It’s not just about the body area. It’s about the skin.

Many clients ask us: 👉 “Which type of wax do you use for each body area?”

Our answer often surprises them: 👉 We don’t make the decision based on the body area alone.

Why? Because the same body area can react very differently in two different people.

It’s Not Just the Body Area That Matters – It’s the Skin

When choosing the appropriate wax and technique, we consider:

  • The thickness of the skin

  • Whether the area is located within a skin fold

  • How much the skin moves

  • The density of the hair

This approach is much more precise than simply saying: 👉 “This type of wax is for here, and that one is for there.”

What Do We Mean by a “Soft, Sensitive Area”?

This doesn’t just mean the intimate area.

Other examples include:

  • Underarms

  • Skin folds

  • The backs of the knees

  • The inner elbows

  • The crease between the thigh and intimate area

  • Certain areas of the face

In these areas:

  • The skin may be thinner

  • The skin may be more vulnerable to injury

  • The area may be more sensitive due to its nerve supply

👉 Here, gentleness matters more than speed.

What About Larger Body Areas?

Larger, flatter areas of the body:

  • Can generally tolerate treatment over broader surfaces

  • May be less sensitive than delicate areas

  • Can often be treated more efficiently

In these areas, roll-on wax can offer several advantages:

  • Faster application

  • More even coverage

  • An efficient and comfortable overall experience

The appropriate technique still depends on the individual’s skin and hair.

Is the Approach the Same for Women's and Men's Skin?

The principle is the same. The application, however, may differ.

Men often have:

  • Thicker hair

  • Denser hair growth

Women may have:

  • More sensitive skin in certain areas

  • Skin that reacts more readily to treatment

These are general tendencies, not universal rules.

That’s why we focus on individual skin responses rather than making assumptions based on gender.

Every body is different, and professional waxing means recognizing those differences and adapting the technique accordingly.
